Become a mermaid with Espiritu de la Sirena's JIVANA
Have you ever dreamed of becoming a mermaid? JIVANA now offers two fun introductory "mermaid transformation" experiences at AVES Hotel.
Mermaid Experience
For those who just want to try the feeling of transforming into a mermaid. There are no prerequisites. This is more about dressing up than swimming. Splish-splash can be optional. This experience consists of mermaid adornment ritual, relaxation session, briefing, land-based photo opps and optional water session. This experience is up to 60-90 minutes and currently available for ages 15+.

Basic mermaid (skills training) + PADI certification
PADI Basic Mermaid
This is the mermaid experience above plus PADI certified training for their level 1 in the mermaid program. Learn basic safety, breathing, mermaid tricks, and how to swim as a mermaid.
This experience is 90-120min

Prepare ahead!
* PADI Level 1 requires a medical checkup (can be done at the "Lifeguard" or other private doctors in Cobano.
* PADI Level 1 "Basic Mermaid" training also requires an online course session that must be completed and passed before certification is given (although not necessarily before the in-person training). Your training fee includes this online e-learning course.
* Aspiring PADI Basic mermaids must be able to swim at least 25m and float comfortably at the surface for at least 3 minutes.
