This high season, Naga Yoga debuts at Aves Hotel.
NAGA YOGA
You can think of this as "Mermaid" yoga and diving deep into the remembrance of Oneness.
Yoga means union, but union with what? With God/dess.
Mystically or more philosophically profound, the movements of Naga Yoga are beginner friendly. Naga Yoga incorporates a breathwork, a sun salutation flow inspired by the ancient Egyptian tradition, an exploration of slow and sensuous movements, and meditation.
This is a class for those who wish to delve more deeply into the meaning of ancient yogic systems - which is Self-realization aka enlightenment (liberation, salvation, moksha).
Although Nagas may be a term to describe half-human half-snake deities, water spirits, or dragons in Asian cultures, we are using the term "Naga" to refer to the "Serpent Wisdom" these beings represent and share including practices and philosophy around "kundalini energy" and it's role in the goal of all tantric-yogic practice.
Naga Yoga pays reverence to the cultures which have deeply influenced the mystical traditions and yogic systems such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and ancient Kemet (aka Egypt). Pantangali (whose Yoga Sutras are considered a bible for modern postural yoga training and respected throughout India) is considered a Naga!
So how is this related to mermaids? Just a fun side note, in some cultures (such as in modern day "Greece"), mermaids, too, are considered Naga.
